[Meme] Wishful Wednesday #06

Sayangnya sampai sekarang belum ketemu. Mungkin ya, karena setiap buku feelnya beda-beda.

[Blabering] Opini Bareng BBI : Ekspektasi Part II

src

Tapi setelah beberapa kejadian mengecewakan, saya kapok blind date sama buku.

Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him.

When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. Kisahnya -katanya sih- masih sama tentang Shadow Hunters, tapi anehnya, covernya malah ngingetin aku sama Sherlock Homes #lah. Btw, cowoknya ganteng kayaknya :p

[Meme] Top Ten 2014 Releases I Meant To Read But Didn't Get To

2014 Releases I Didn't Get To Read

Truthfully, there are sooo many books that released last year that I really wanted to read but couldn't, most of them are series, which meant I had to read the previous books first. But today I'll only list books that stand alones (well, one of them is a trilogy), so here are them.

1. To All The Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
I forgot why I wanted to read this one, maybe because of the fuzz at the time, or something. Besides, They all said Jenny Han is an amazing author.
2. What I Thought Was True by Huntly Fitzpatrick
I was just reading My Life Next Door by the same author and I loved it, I wanted to read another book by her but till now, I haven't even picked it out.

[Review] Coraline by Neil Gaiman

Title: Coraline
Author: Neil Gaiman
Publisher: William Morrow
Published: August 2006
ISBN: 9780061139376
Pages: 162

Coraline's often wondered what's behind the locked door in the drawing room. It reveals only a brick wall when she finally opens it, but when she tries again later, a passageway mysteriously appears. Coraline is surprised to find a flat decorated exactly like her own, but strangely different. And when she finds her "other" parents in this alternate world, they are much more interesting despite their creepy black button eyes. When they make it clear, however, that they want to make her theirs forever, Coraline begins a nightmarish game to rescue her real parents and three children imprisoned in a mirror. With only a bored-through stone and an aloof cat to help, Coraline confronts this harrowing task of escaping these monstrous creatures.

Gaiman has delivered a wonderfully chilling novel, subtle yet intense on many levels. The line between pleasant and horrible is often blurred until what's what becomes suddenly clear, and like Coraline, we resist leaving this strange world until we're hooked. Unnerving drawings also cast a dark shadow over the book's eerie atmosphere, which is only heightened by simple, hair-raising text. Coraline is otherworldly storytelling at its best.

[Blabering] Opini Bareng BBI : Ekspektasi

src

[Wrap Up] Goodreads Reading Challenge

The Best of 2014

src

It's new year! Happy New Year 2015 ! What's your resolution for this year? Do you wish to do anything in this year that you couldn't do last year? Mine is buying more books. Definitely books. I wish I could buy 100 books this year, at the very least. And of course I'll read them all.

Anyway, I was talking about the best of 2014, wasn't I? So let's get started.

The Best Books/Series I've Read in 2014

5. Infinitely Yours by Orizuka
This is the book that takes place in South Korea and they just made their own epic detour. It's romantic but I think it's too fast for people to fall in love in just a week. But then again, I've read a book that its characters fell in one day so I guess that's not unusual.
